On May 5, the 19th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition and Forum - Caspian Agro Week, the 31st Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition - InterFood Azerbaijan, as well as the 14th Caspian International Exhibition Everything for Hotels, Restaurants and Supermarkets - Horeca Caspian officially launched at the Baku Expo Center.
The opening ceremony of Caspian Agro Week exhibition was attended by Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA), Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of Small and Medium Business Development Agency, Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO), Muhammad Nasar Hayat, Head of FAO Partnership and Liaison Office in Azerbaijan, Edward Strachan, CEO of ICA Events.
Majnun Mammadov, Agriculture Minister, noted that attendance of the exhibition by representatives of leading global companies in agriculture and the food industry, as well as investors and farmers, highlights the strategic importance of the event and its role in fostering international cooperation in this field. According to the speaker, in today’s context agriculture serves as a key instrument for ensuring food safety, promoting socio-economic development of regions, increasing employment, and protecting the environment.
The Caspian Agro has strengthened its position over the years as a leading regional platform in the agricultural sector. This year, it is being held in an updated format under the concept of Caspian Agro Week.
This approach not only enables the demonstration of agricultural products and technologies, but also facilitates forums, business meetings, and visits by guests to major agricultural complexes. According to the minister, this format creates conditions for broad discussion of current issues in the sector.
Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of Food Safety Agency drew attention to the fact that agriculture and the food industry are strategically important sectors for the state. Therefore, food safety issues are coming to the forefront, he emphasised. The development of these spheres, alignment with the highest international standards, expansion of import opportunities, and entry into new export markets for agricultural products are key issues that will be discussed on the Caspian Agro exhibition platform. Goshgar Tahmazli expressed confidence that Caspian Agro will provide opportunities for all those working in the sector to explore and benefit from global experience in their future activities.
Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of Small and Medium Business Development Agency, stated that over the past few years, the Agency has been actively participating in the exhibition, showcasing its products to a wide audience of visitors. The speaker noted that this
year, ten representatives of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are taking part within the Agency’s stand.
Mr Mammadov expressed confidence that, as in previous years, the exhibition will create favourable conditions for business promotion and will, overall, contribute to the development of the country’s agricultural sector.
This exhibition plays an important role in the development of non-oil sectors of the country’s economy, Yusif Abdullayev/ AZPROMO Executive Director, said. AZPROMO, alongside its participation in international exhibitions abroad and the promotion of the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, also takes part in exhibitions held within the country. Ten companies under this brand are represented in this year’s platform. According to the speaker, the exhibition will play an important role in establishing business relations among participants, promoting their businesses, and facilitating entry into new markets.
Head of the Office of Partnership and Coordination of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Azerbaijan Nasar Hayat emphasised that this year the Caspian Agro Week is taking place under challenging global conditions. He noted that the situation in the world has intensified issues related to food supply, agricultural production, and food security. Nasar Hayat said that a range of important issues will be widely discussed at the exhibition, and all participants will be able to jointly seek answers to global challenges.
Director General of ICA Events Edward Strachan congratulated guests and participants on the opening of the exhibitions, presented statistical data regarding Caspian Agro Week, and wished everyone a successful and productive event.
The industries showcased at the exhibitions consistently receive special attention from the government. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visits the Caspian Agro Week and InterFood Azerbaijan exhibitions, exploring the exhibition pavilions and engaging with participants at the Baku Expo Center.
The Caspian Agro Week and InterFood Azerbaijan - the region’s largest exhibitions in the agricultural and food industry sectors - serve as key annual events that bring together all major players operating in the respective industries. The leading platforms in the field of agriculture and the food industry provide a unique opportunity to establish direct contacts with the region’s key producers and distributors.
This year, the exhibitions will be marked by several new features. Previously known as Caspian Agro, the exhibition is now organised under a new brand — Caspian Agro Week starting from 2026 and is presented as the Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition and Forum. The organisers believe that the updated and expanded concept will give new momentum to the exhibition and create
broader opportunities for networking, cross-sector collaboration and effective business dialogue for both participants and visitors.
Some 447 companies from 45 countries around the world have confirmed their participation in the exhibitions. Alongside Azerbaijan, the geography of the exhibitions covers Germany, the United States of America, Belarus, Benin, the United Kingdom, Brazil, South Korea, South Sudan, the Czech Republic, China, Georgia, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Cameroon, Latvia, Mexico, Egypt, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Ghana, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Greece, Japan, Vietnam, Zambia, and other countries.
At the same time, within the framework of the exhibitions, Germany, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Indonesia present their agricultural and food industry products in the format of national groups. AFAZ (Africa-Azerbaijan Cooperation) also takes part with a dedicated stand, showcasing companies from the following countries: the Republic of Benin, the Republic of South Sudan, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, the Republic of Cameroon, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Senegal, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Republic of Zambia. It should be noted that AFAZ and Brazil are participating in these exhibitions for the first time.
The exhibitions are organized both in indoor pavilions and in the outdoor area of the Baku Expo Center. In particular, the open-air space features a large-scale display of heavy machinery and modern agricultural products. Here, visitors can take a closer look at the latest technological advancements and equipment in the agricultural sector.
As the largest agricultural exhibition in the region, Caspian Agro covers areas such as agricultural machinery, equipment, and facilities, irrigation systems, packaging, innovative technologies in agriculture, livestock and poultry, veterinary medicine, crop cultivation, fruit and vegetable growing, floriculture, waste processing, logistics, and e-agriculture.
At the same time, the exhibition features a “Smart Agro” section showcasing artificial intelligence, smart villages, start-ups, IT services, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, and green agro initiatives.
The InterFood Azerbaijan exhibition presents products and services across various segments of the food industry, including beverages, confectionery, dairy products, bakery and flour-based goods, fruits and vegetables, packaging, food technologies, as well as halal food and other categories.
A series of forums and conferences will be held in the exhibition presentation area organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
For the first time, Hosted Buyer (Buyer Mission) program has been organized during the Caspian Agro Week and InterFood Azerbaijan exhibitions. This program is being implemented to create a highly efficient and convenient working environment for visitor buyers participating in the exhibition.
As part of the exhibitions, the “WomenSpace: Food, Communication, Mentorship” event and a chocolate art installation exhibition will be organized.
The traditional International Culinary Championship Golden Shah 2026, which has for many years been an integral part of the InterFood Azerbaijan exhibition, will once again be at the center of visitors’ attention this year.
